Visit to the Rice Ranch. Right outside of Rattan, OK on the way to Antlers, OK you will see a yellow sign "Brangus For Sale," take a left at that sign and go down a little bit and you can't see the Brangus but you will defantely see Spots. I had the honor of visiting the Rice Ranch in Febuary. Rosemary was kind enough to write me while I was in Iraq, and gave me an open invitation to visit them upon my return. Well I took her up on the invite. Pete Hessman was loading up feed and introduced himself, and I was pointed to a Ford that Lynn was feeding in. I got in the truck and learned the history of the Plummer breed. After a pasture tour we went inside to meet Rosemary. With a big hug and "glad to see you made it back," I felt like I had known her for years. With a glass of sweet tea we discussed their cattle and I realized that not only are Lynn and Rosemary in love with each other but love for their cattle is just as strong. With proven genitics that go way back the Rice ranch is leading the way into the future of our industry. With an invitation to come back I got in my truck and headed home. I would like to thank Lynn & Rosemary Rice for their hospitality and kindness and hope to see them soon. for more information on the Rice Ranch go to: www.riceranchnow.com Po' Boy Classic 05' First NABBBA Santioned Event!
