He's noisy, destructive, and a glutton! Magician?: Yes Magic / NMU Details: Joshua is an offensive Fire user (Hellhound). His magic means he usually gets quite seasick on the first few days of a journey, but he can usually bounce back pretty quickly. Appearance: Short, round, and jolly. Joshua has a massive black beard that reaches all the way to his knees; it's filled with all manner of beads, buttons, and ribbons, and jingles when he walks. He has sparkling black eyes and unkempt brown hair. He only has a few remaining teeth (one of which is gold), so his grin looks a bit less charming than he intends. He is also missing his right leg and a portion of his left arm; the skin of his chest and face are pockmarked with burn scars. Personality: Joshua is a charming ruffian, the sort of person who says offensive things but gets away with it because he means well. He's always putting his foot in his mouth, and if you're looking for someone to mess up a good thing by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, he's always available! He lived a rowdy life and delights in sharing his torrid tales with anyone who will listen (as long as they buy him an ale or six). Relationships: Joshua likely has a number of illegitimate children scattered throughout Knell. Their mothers likely have fond memories of Joshua as he always romanced available women (usually widows) who were well-aware of the fact he was not interested in marriage or long-term commitment. His children, who may be called "bastards" by the unkind, may be another story... Career: Joshua was once one of Knell's most notorious pirates, best known for the fact that in 25+ years of sailing he never killed or seriously injured a single person (he was a master with traps, and if worst came to worst he'd just knock an opponent out instead). Eventually he grew tired of the life, and so he appealed to King Idris for forgiveness. The King set him a number of tasks to earn his pardon, which he completed quickly thanks to his various connections. He eventually earned a position as the instructor of Sailors at the Conservatory, and has enjoyed the position ever since.
