Interview Information / Experience: | Optional accommodation provided by the program at Double Tree Hotel, along with optional pre-interview dinner with residents at a local restaurant.
Interview day begins at 7.15 am with breakfast, and chief residents and PD briefly explain strengths of the program. Hospital tour is taken in batches and most floors, ICUs etc. are shown. A chief resident case presentation is conducted, which is very interactive and well presented. Lunch is provided, which is attended by all interviewing faculty, many residents and all interviewees for everyone to interact (veggie options also!)
Day concluded with "Exit conference" which was a summary of the program strengths and a brief talk about living in Philadelphia.
The actual interview is interesting: an "A interview" by a faculty member familiar with your application and a "B interview" which is an informal chat by a faculty member who has never seen your application. Both interviews are very comfortable and stress-free. Absolutely NO medical questions here! Mainly about you as a person, your interests beyond medicine etc.
The program is very proud of its resident autonomy, 100% fellowship match rate, solid clinical training, ample opportunity for clinical research, chance for international electives, one of the nation's highest elective numbers, amongst many others. Fox Chase cancer center (one of the best), a top-50 lung center are some of the other stellar aspects of Temple. |
