Interview Information / Experience: | the dya starts early at 7am. morning report was good. a brief talk with chief resident adn then a power point presentation by assoc pd. it was quite informative. there were a lot of indian residents, the camaraderie was not very good, nor was there apprciation for the morning rpeort done by the intern. they r affiliated with univ of buffalo. the interview with assoc pd dr tourbaf was for 10min, where i tlaked about my research work, strengths weakness, career goals, why should they select me etc. no medical questions. the interview with pd was a longer one, he is fond of playing medical jeopardy with candidates. the pd is jovial and nice, asked me many questions about scores, present work, research, why he should rank me, strengths, weaknesses, hobbies etc.
the mercy hospital is an old one. the pd puts in lot of efforts and guides the residents very well. they sponsor h1b(since last year) and j1. not heard of prematches. they ahve good fellowship placements of 33%. they ave a resident newletter called elixir and also concept of portfolio for residents. overall a good and busy program, but needs to work no interiors of the hospital, call rooms and conference room. |
