Short description*:The ALM will develop tools and resources to support:

1. Adaptation practices – what can be done to adapt to climate change on the ground?
2. Integration of climate change risks and adaptation into development policy, planning and operations – how can policies and plans support adaptation over time?
3. Capacity building – how can people be better assisted in becoming equipped for adapting to climate change?
Focus and description*:The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is facilitating the ALM in close partnership with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), UNEP, the World Bank and specialized UN agencies including FAO and WHO. ALM is funded by the Global Environment Facility as three year project, which started in December 2007.



ALM captures the current state of knowledge on climate change adaptation and supports evolving efforts to integrate climate change adaptation into development planning. The platform provides access to adaptation resources, and supports interactive learning and knowledge exchange through network of adaptation practitioners from around the world.
