South Asian NGOs and scientists concerned of Global Climate Change issues and engaged in the INC and UNCED processes responded to the emerging challenge and threat of climate change by establishing CAN South Asia CANSA, in 1991. Over the years, CANSA has contributed toward meaningful and effective participation of all stakeholder groups, particularly in raising the profile of the people most vulnerable and likely to be affected by climate change adverse impacts.
