Message from Keiron on 7/25 2010, 12:19 +00:00 EMail: keiron@mac.com WWW: www.boerwarnurses.com Searching Text Area FieldsHi, I want to be able to search for any text string in either a long text field or a text area. Is this possible? At the moment I just seem to be able to search on the first word in the field of a long text field. Cheers Keiron |

Message from Keiron on 7/26 2010, 14:57 +00:00 EMail: Keiron@mac.com WWW: www.boerwarnurses.com Re: Searching Text Area FieldsThanks Claus, what I need is to understand the built in functions of a baseportal database. I have a database set up which public users can interrogate (when it goes live): http://www.baseportal.com/cgi-bin/baseportal.pl?htx=/pcansr/medalroll_2&localparams=1&db=medalroll&cmd=list&range=0,20&cmd=all&Id=2087 I am not sure how to get the standard Search command to then find anything within a text field other than the first word. Is there something I need to do in the settings of the database? Or is this not possible using the built in features? Cheers Keiron |
