      Hi James, all,

      Coincidentally, I am working on a very similar project, and also want registered members to be able to modify their own record, but no one else's. Unfortunately, my skill set seems to as limited or more limited as yours! :o{

      But maybe we can compare notes if we learn anything?

      First we want to know if this is even possible, right?

      Also, I would be happy to pay someone (Claus?) $$ BIG BUCKS $$ for helping. Just kidding about the "big bucks. I don't have much money, but would be happy to pay a reasonable fee for someone to help me put the fine touches on my project. The database is very simple member director, and is mostly finished except for the password protection and members-add-edit-delete their own record, but no one else's

      Anyone interested?

    DATABASE WITH MULTIPLE USERS


      Hi,

      I've made a database for School Alumni and I want each registrant to modify or delete their entries later but only to their own data & not to others.

      Is it possible? How can I do that? I need your help please. I do not know about programming.

      Hi,

      take a look in the Library from baseportal.

      There you can find the password protection, written by myself.

      Hi,

      I'm only a german user and at the moment I don't work or help for money.

      By the way, it's not so difficult as it seems.

      Yes, it's possible. My Password Protection in the Library is the right thing. Password Protection2 allowes also secure add. Read the explanations.

      At first you must create your Database. Fields, design and so on.

      If you done it, ask for more.

      ;-)

      Thanks a million for your kind reply. Here is a rough mock up of my database. I have to change some of the fields,fine tune the display, and work on the aesthetics, but it is essentially done.

      I have had a look in the library. (You certainly have done a lot of work!) But there is still an information gap about how to get that into my database. Excuse my ignorance.

      Also, are you sure that with your password script, All can view, but only password holders can add or change their own record (and only their own record)?

      Again, sorry for the dumb questions. My skill are not great.
