The title of this award-winning play refers to the Prophet Mohammed’s statement about a mother: “Paradise is at her feet”. The relationship – personal and social – between women and Islam is a complex one, and At Her Feet explores this with sharp insight, gentle humour and sensitivity. In theatre reviews, At Her Feet has been described as ‘invigorating’, ‘moving’ and ‘rich’, with the Mail & Guardian saying that it “triumphantly gives tongue to a set of voices barely heard in public discourse”.
