Synopsis: | The three Zimmerman sisters struggle to fulfill their individual dreams, while managing their outrageous mother’s medical miracle –awakening from a coma—which inconveniently unfolds in the oldest sister’s apartment.
AND SOPHIE COMES TOO is a comedy/drama, concerning adoption, sibling rivalry, aging, and gender. Oldest sister Barbara doesn't want her family's calamity to interfere with her sex life, or the pending adoption of her daughter; Middle sister, Rose, isn't as perfect as everyone thinks; her seemingly perfect life is littered with tragic secrets, from a drug-abusing husband to a son whose problems are a little worse than anyone suspects. And youngest sister, Sandra, wants a penis. She struggles to accept herself and to be accepted as she transitions to manhood.
AND SOPHIE COMES TOO is a play about becoming one's self, even as others struggle to impose their own desires.
