Synopsis:A work of fiction inspired by an actual court case, ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL examines the secrets of the human heart. On April 13, 1993, suburban Ohio social studies teacher Carrie Braun has just learned the appellate court's ruling on the reverse discrimination suit she filed against her school board. The case, now four years old, pitted Carrie (a liberal Jew) against her friend and colleague Berta Freeman (a black woman). Over the course of that day, Carrie revisits the events that destroyed not only their friendship, but everything she believed to be true about herself.
