Loser. Geek. Afro. Lame. Nerd. It would seem that Lily’s new adopted sister doesn’t like her new family too much. Not only does she have insulting nicknames for everyone, but she hates everyone and everything and shows it in all she does. If that’s not bad enough, some circumstances come up that leave Lily, Art & Joe home alone with her after school every day for two weeks! And if that weren’t bad enough, now Tessa’s barging in on the only thing Lily had left that was just hers: horse riding (her latest “thing” that she’s determined to be the best at). Can’t mom and dad just get rid of her, send her back or something? | Extra Notes: | Lily is about to learn about never giving up. When Tessa's choices lead to trouble Lily thinks God has given up. And Tessa is convinced everyone has given up on her. After all, that's what she's experienced all through her life. People don't remain faithful. They give up on you. Except, God never does. And it's up to Lily and the girlz to show her that, even though Lily is having a hard time believing it herself. This is definitely an impressive story. It does a great job portraying the issue of adoption in a beautiful manner, yet realistic, yet appropriate for a young girl. I highly recommend this one. | Reviewer: | J:-)mi | Recommendation Scale: | 5 |
