Summary: | Didn't Jack and Jill go up the hill and Hansel & Gretel visit the Gingerbread House? Nope! Not in this mystery! Jack and Jill live in an old victorian style house with gingerbread style decorations on it. The TCDC visit the house to make a delivery to Jack and Jill and are delighted with the house. But when Sarah-Jane goes to knock on the window to get the attention of the person wallpapering inside the person runs away and Jill says it wasn't her or Jack or any of the workers. That means someone has been sneaking around in the house. Who? And why in the world would they be doing things like helping remove the wallpaper or sweeping the floor? It's up to the cousins to solve the mystery. |
Extra Notes: | The theme of this book is Proverbs 25:13 - Like the coolness of snow at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the spirit of his masters. The kids have to be trustworthy messengers. And like always, they set aside whatever they have going on to solve the mystery in order to help out someone else. Their desire to solve the mysteries seems primarily based in a desire to show love to those around them. This book is unique in it's size. It's a chapter book that's only 63 pages long with only a few pages in each chapter. It could be particularly useful for beginning readers. It is part of the Three Cousins Detective Club series. Each book in the series is focused on a fruit of the Spirit or a Proverb. |
