They both survive, but when Kara's aunt comes to care for Kara while her mom recovers, some secrets come out that shake the little bit left of Kara's world. Stumbling in pain and hurt and betrayal Kara flees, running from bad to worse. Finally she makes some new friends, but those friends are Christians and want to haul her to Church and pray with her and want her to make the same choice they did. Kara can't do that. It's just too much. Will she ever be the same again? Will she ever recover from the hurt, the pain, the loss, the betrayal? | Extra Notes: | This book sounds like a tragedy doesn't it? In many ways it is, but it's realistic fiction. It's purpose is to let you see and relate to a character whose life is filled with pain and hurt and confusion. Kara does find salvation, but life still has it's struggles. It's simply real. | Reviewer: | J:-)mi | Recommendation Scale: | 3 |
