She's ready to move on. Hawaii seems like a good place to do it. She won't have to experience wistfulness whenever she sees Connor, she won't have to run into the guy who she suspect nearly raped her, she won't have to deal with forgiveness of Jodi, she won't have friends like Eli ready to drag her back into her past lifestyle. But is running away from everything really the answer? | Extra Notes: | Skylar is a very realistic character. It's easy to relate to her logic that if she just avoids the past it can't affect her. Stephanie Morrill does a good job showing that allowing God to bring forgiveness is the only way to truly move on from past hurts and regrets. The spiritual focus is certainly there, not necessarily as strong as some, but definitely there and on track. This is especially good book for those struggling to forgive themselves. Skylar knows God has forgiven her, but she is still not able to move on, not ready to truly believe it. | Reviewer: | J:-)mi | Recommendation Scale: | 4 |
