Maybe when she was fourteen, she should have babysat her bratty cousin when her parents asked. Maybe when she was seven, if she hadn't locked the teacher out of the classroom, this wouldn't be happening to her. No, maybe her life went all wrong when she was three and she knocked down the girl with the pigtails who had stolen Mr. Huggles, her stuffed bear. Yes, the more she thought about it, that must be the moment that started her on the path that led to the special punishment she was now suffering." That "special punishment" is a decree from her dad to get a job the summer before her senior year of highschool. And so Candance finds herself working at "The Zone", an amusement park in her town where she experiences runaway carts, kids hyped up on sugar going nuts, a boyfriend, a jealous friend, a failed drug test, and many more adventures.
| Extra Notes: | As Candace journeys through her summer, she learns a few things about showing love and forgiveness to others when she nearly loses her best friend due to disagreements. This book is enjoyable - just simply fun! There are some good spiritual issues moments in the book, but that's not the focus of it. The focus really is on the story itself. It's a pleasurable read, just not all that deep. | Reviewer: | J:-)mi | Recommendation Scale: | 2 |
