| Title: | New Horizons | Author First Name: | Lois Gladys | Author Last Name: | Leppard | Co-Author First Name: | | Co-Author Last Name: | | Series: | Mandie Her College Days | Series #: | 1 | Publisher: | Bethany House Publishers | ISBN: | 076422932X | Genre: | Mystery | Sub Genre: | Adventure | Target Gender: | Females | Target Age: | 13 and under | Issue: Death: | None | Issue: Lifestyle: | None | Issue: Physical: | None | Issue: Relationships: | Friendships | Issue: Religion: | Christianity | Issue: Self Image: | None | Issue: Spiritual: | None | Summary: | Ever the curious one, Mandie has now entered college and is finding mysteries to solve there. This time the mystery involves friendships, ghosts, a missing person and a new potential suitor! | Extra Notes: | I had thought Mandie was going to grow up. But nope. No growth whatsoever. New horizons is just like the younger novels - only thicker! Sadly, we will never discover what is to happen with Mandie as the author has passed away. One point of notable significance is that a movie has been made about the first Mandie book: The Secret Tunnel. The biggest downfall of the stories is that Mandie never seems to learn her lesson. She continually pushes boundaries, sometimes resorting to direct disobedience in order to solve whatever question she has turned into a big mystery. Her repentance always seems sincere however, and she knows right where to turn when she gets into trouble. The "saying our verse" is still here. | Reviewer: | J:-)mi | Recommendation Scale: | 2 |
