Meet Tyce Sanders, the first kid to do so. He may be wheelchair bound, but with the virtual reality programs, he can do some pretty amazing things. In fact, he's quite essential to the work on Mars. However, he has a few things in his way: the bad guys who want to take over the whole project and his lack of faith in God as his Savior. The bad guys are working to ensure that alot of people die, possibly including Tyce and his mom. But, perhaps Tyce's skills can save the project. Or maybe not. Read and find out. | Extra Notes: | As can be expected from Sigmund Brouwer's teen works, this book is excellent. However, also predictable is the republishing under a different title. Mars Diaries is currently in print as Robot Wars, a slightly modified form of the original books. So if you start looking for it and can't find it - that's the reason why. ;-) The author does a great job of presenting Tyce as skeptical of his mom's faith and just as great of a job presenting the reasons why Tyce eventually decides to believe. The sci-fi part of the story is quite fun for a young reader - Tyce can control robots, even mini ones that can do some pretty incredible things. | Reviewer: | J:-)mi | Recommendation Scale: | 5 |
