Take it easy. Flippa | | Author: | Flippa | | | Subject: | FIN FINDS A HOME IN SAN ANTONIO | | Date: | Friday, September 2, 2005, 01:20 +00:00 | | Text: | The Biggest NBA Free Agent Sweepstakes of the summer finally comes to an end, and the San Antonio Spurs have emerged as the Big Winner!
Michael Finley will be wearing the black and silver next season playing with the Maverick's Western Conference Rivals and defending NBA Champs the Spurs.
His agent, Hank Thomas, joined us today on the show to break down what's been going through the Carribean King's head through it all.
Ultimately it wasn't about location or money, but it came down to wear he would be able to contribute and what team would be the perfect fit. With Miami and Phoenix able to offer more money, Finley was more concerned with finding a home and winning a ring.
Tomorrow is Brag N' Boast Friday... so have your dial finger ready to call us and tell us all about your little one doing big things on the field, in the classroom or out in the community. | | Author: | Uda May | | | Subject: | WHAT WOULD YOU DO??? | | Date: | Wednesday, August 24, 2005, 01:31 +00:00 | | Text: | You're taking care of some business around the corner from where your significant other lives so you decide to stop by. Upon your arrival you notice some unusual rocking of the trailer they are living in. You knock a few times but get no answer even though you know they're home. The rocking continues. What do yo do?
Do you:
a. Assume they don't hear you knocking and decide to leave. You trust them, it's probably nothing.
b. Walk around the trailer and knocking and peeping through the windows to get a better look.
c. Go by a six pack and steak out the joint until someone comes out. Then confront them.
d. Kick in the door and get to the bottom of the situation.
c. Set the trailer on fire!
We want to hear from you... Let us know at rogerbsports@sbcglobal.net | | Author: | Uda MAy | | | Subject: | What Would You Do With T.O. ? | | Date: | Friday, August 12, 2005, 15:15 +00:00 | | Text: | Everytime you think its going away it comes back just like a nasty virus or something. The Terrell Owens saga continued yesterday as coach Andy Reid dismissed TO from camp for a week after a confrontation about TO's workout schedule. So today on Talkin' Sports w/ Roger B. we asked the question; What would you do with Terrell Owens? Cut him, suspend him, trade him, or give him a new contract. Majority of the callers said that they would just give him a new contract. Which i personally think should have been done weeks, maybe even months ago. This thing has lingered on so long that its just a huge mess now. And it's up to Eagles management to clean it up. Tune in tomorrow we'll be talkin everything football on Talkin' Sports With Roger B. | | Author: | J2daP | | | Subject: | Which Black QB Will Make It To The Super Bowl? | | Date: | Saturday, August 6, 2005, 02:22 +00:00 | | Text: | It's been a long time coming but it's finaly here. Black quarterbacks are making their mark in the NFL. I mean you got Dante', Donovan, Steve, and MIke just to name a few. But which one is going to take torch from Doug Williams and be the next qb to win the Super Bowl? That was the topic of question today on Talkin' Sports w/ Roger B. A couple have been close but no one has been able to climb that last hurdle. As usual we the callers decide and in a landside Donovan McNabb was chosen as the next qb to take the crown. Probably the most obvious choice but quite a few have a chance. If Aaron Brooks can get his act together it could be him,It seems as if Michael Vick is destine for greatness at some point,Dante Cullpepper has done nothing but get better every year, and lets not forget Steve McNair. I personally think if he can stay healthy, he has the best chance of them all. He's the most polished of the group and doesn't need a great supporting cast to be effective.A good running game and a solid defense won't hurt his chances either. Check us out on Sunday for the Sports Extravaganza w' Spyda The Outsida where we cover the past week in sports. Im out have a safe weekend! | | Author: | J2daP | | | Subject: | Who's The Best NFL Running Back? | | Date: | Thursday, August 4, 2005, 02:56 +00:00 | | Text: | A question that in recent years would be easy to answer. Who's the best running back in the NFL? There was Jim Brown, OJ Simpson, Tony Dorsett, Walter Payton, Erik Dickerson, Barry Sanders, and Emmitt Smith. But with all of the greats now retired and no one who without question stands alone, it makes for an interesting topic. That was the discussion today on Talkin Sports With Roger B. There's no doubt that we have great backs in the leauge. Ladamian Tomlinson,Edgerin James, Jamal Lewis, Priest Holmes, and even the underated Curtis Martin. As usaul the callers settled the argument and said that Edgerin James was the best running back. Kind of shocking to some, but who's gonna argue with Roger B's listeners, not me!! Check us out tomorrow when we talk to Chicago radio personality Jerry Riles. Who knows which direction the conversation will go? Only one way to find out. | | Author: | J2daP | | | Subject: | Who's Your Favorite Player | | Date: | Saturday, July 23, 2005, 01:19 +00:00 | | Text: | Sunday on the Sports Extraveganza were polling our listeners to find out who their favorite players in the game are? Baseball, Football, Hockey, Basketball... We want to know from you!
Tune in Sunday to the Sports Extraveganza to let your voice be heard!!! | | Author: | Uda May | | | Subject: | COWBOYS RING OF HONOR | | Date: | Wednesday, July 20, 2005, 19:29 -06:00 | | Text: | Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, announced today that he was inducting Emmit Smith, Michael Irving and Troy Aikman to the Ring of Honor.
With past Cowboy greats like Drew Pearson, Bob Hayes and Everson Walls not yet part of the exclusive Ring of Honor, has their window of opportunity been shut?
That was the question today on Talkin' Sports, and listeners kept the phone lines blowing up!
When it comes to the Cowboys, everyone has an oppinion. Although it was a tight poll, in the end most feel that indeed there is no chance for pre-Jones era players to be inducted into the Ring of Honor. | | Author: | Uda May | | | Subject: | DOES RICKY WILLIAMS OWE HIS TEAMMATES | | Date: | Tuesday, July 19, 2005, 19:37 -06:00 | | Text: | Ricky Williams is officially back with the Miami Dolphins. After walking away from the game just before the start of training camp last season, does Williams owe anything to his teammates now that he's back with the team?
Most listeners agreed that Williams didn't owe anything to anyone. That he's just there for the money, he was forced to come back, so why should he have to start going out of his way for his teammates to trust him again. Afterall, they are not the ones signing his paycheck.
Former Dallas Cowboy, Everson Walls, joined us today and offered a different perspective. He said that Williams owes his teammates some sort of explaination or comment, and that he must go out and prove himself on the football field. Only after that, will the Dolphins truly be able to move on.
Stay tuned for the show tomorrow. | | Author: | Uda May | | | Subject: | Most Overrated Athlete | | Date: | Monday, July 11, 2005, 19:26 -06:00 | | Text: | Who is the most overrated athlete in sports today?
That was the question on Today's show. Unfortunately, many called got "overrated" confused with "Past their Prime". Many votes came in for players like Gary Payton, Chris Webber and Warren Sapp. But are they infact good players who are just past their prime?
Although some voters were confused on the defination of "overrated", many understood the meaning. The majority vote went to Dirk Nowitski as being the most overrated athlete in Sports.
Tell us what you think by hitting us up on the B-Line: rogerbsports@sbcglobal.net | | Author: | Uda May | | | Subject: | IS THE NBA's FOREIGN INVASION OVER??? | | Date: | Friday, July 1, 2005, 01:26 +00:00 | | Text: | If you missed the show yesterday like me, the topic of discussion was the foreign invasion in the NBA.
With only four foreign players drafted in this year's draft, a dramatic decrease from recent year's, Roger B. asked the following question: "Has the foreign invasion run its course in the NBA?"
The phone lines lit up with different opinions from our listeners. In the end, most voted "NO".
Keep listening, because you never know what's going to happen during The Sports Happy Hour! | | Author: | Uda May |
