Used Esata cable Free Agent Pro Seagate. Plugged in while unit on, and recieved error message from 8300HD. tuned to channel 611 and drive indicated failed. Turned drive off, and indicated not connected. (warned that drive connection lost). Tried to reboot cable box with drive connected and turned on before boot. Same problem.
New out of the box 8-14-07
Used IOMEGA 1 Terabyte Expander Esata drive - works. Would not work with NTSF file format. need to either format as fat32, or unformat the drive. I also had to replace my box with another 8300HD (by the way the 8300HDC will not work) I could not get the drive that worked with the other box until I unformatted it.
