Works like a dream! Comments on Newegg stated that this would work, so I took a chance and it's perfect. Used spare 320GB SATA drive I had lying around, deleted existing partition altogether and connected via eSATA -- instantly recognized, formatted, and working!
Glitch-free in any combination of recording/watching. I have another BlacX and was happy with it, perhaps having such an easy swap ability, I can use my pile of 320GB SATA drives here and there as needed (too bad there's no control over what gets recorded where). BlacX enclosure after rebate = $30 shipped, AND comes with eSATA cable, so total cost was very low compared to other tested enclosures...
