Very easy to set up. Hard to find in the store, they're over by the Tivos instead of in the computer hard drive section. Store staff didn't know what it was or where it was.
Drive came with an eSATA cable in the box. Unplugged the power to my DVR, plugged the hard drive into the SATA port, powered the drive on then restored power to the DVR. After it's boot process, I hit the DVR power button & it said it saw a new drive & asked to format it. Hit the A button to confirm the formatting & didn't get any feedback after that. After a few minutes I checked the storage capacity in the 'recorded programs' list and it hadn't changed still 97% used. Cycled the power on the DVR again and then it it showed 21% used.
Have done the requested testing (recording two HD channels & playing one back delayed) with no issues.
Also, I had called Time Warner earlier to see if they knew anything & could recommend a drive. The lady didn't have a clue what I was talking about. No surprise... :)
