Abby McDonald was the gracious hostess to her hometown bull riding on Saturday night, June 29th. With the help of her parents and committee members, Troy and Jennifer McDonald,and the rest of the Aurora committee they rolled out the welcome mat for 28 riders and 4 Midwest Bullfighters. Not only did the crowd of over 3200 have a memorable night but so did the contestants.
Richard Smith earned the championship spotfor the second event in a row. This time he shared the spotlight with Levi Shrable. Both men scored 82 point rides in the long go competition. Only two other men were able to cover their bulls in the long go. Ronnie Kitchen took 3rd with an 80-point ride and Chaz Skillet earned 4th place with a score of 78. No one was able to cover their bulls in the Short Go. Chaz won the PRCA event he was at the night before which illustrates the quality of the bulls in the Double S Bulls line up.
