| Spectators From Several States |

A quick walk around the parking lot and a person could find license plates from several states besides Iowa. This was even more remarkable due to the heavy rains that fell the night before the event. The phone was very busy with calls wanting to know one question, "Is the bull riding still on?" Hard work by the fair crew had cleared the mud from the arena area and the team from Extreme Bullriding Tour set up the arena and all was ready to go. Then it happened. The sky filled with dark black clouds and as everyone took cover it rained an unbelievable 3.5" in less than a half hour. As everyone came out of cover to clear skies (remember this is Iowa!) they looked upon an arena once again full of mud. Ok, it is bull riding and the "Let's do it!" was the word. Despite the condition of the arena the bulls did an exceptional job of bucking. The cowboys figured out real quick, "Land on your feet or prepare to play in the mud!" The crowd loved it. With well over 3000 in attendance the roar of the crowd was clear. They cheered just as loud for the bulls as they did the cowboys. Jimmy Twedt only needed $9 to take the lead in the standings having won the last 3 events. He said "I am going to win or at least make it extreme." He rode his long round bull and was the last man to ride in the Championship Round. The bull took Jimmy into the "well" before the 8 second buzzer but he was able to hit the ground on his feet. As he started to walk away from the bull, the bull caught him between his legs. Jimmy took an unscheduled flying lesson as the bull sent him over 15 feet in the air almost tossing him over the out gate. As the crowd held their breath Jimmy stood up and with a smile to the crowd walked out of the arena to the roar of the spectators. What an EXTREME way to end a bull
