The Ozark Nationals is a pull considered by many as the best pull in Southwest Missouri and "the Ozarks." Located just off Hwy J, this season marked the second year I had attended the event. If there is any Outlaw associated pull that is growing year-by-year Diamond is it! An estimated 2,000 fans and forty-two pulling machines made for a pulling fans two-day dream. This season modifieds were added to the event with the ever-comical Outlaw announcer Dave Bennett noting a possibility of adding the wheel standing two-wheel drive class for 2005. Seven 2004 Louisville invites made the show at Diamond with Hurricane Allis and the Texas Bullwhip each winning their classes. Traditional East Central Missouri Tractor Pullers Leon Hellsbusch on No Mercy, Roger Lierman on Running On Red and Larry Steinman on Gateway Deere all from Marthasville, Missouri rounded out a class of 11 Super Farm competitors. Lierman won both sessions. All in all Diamond was a great show that should only get better next year.
