Jimmy Twedt, 19, is the proud son of Rod and Kathy Twedt of Ellsworth, IA. He has an older sister, Lindsi, who currently attends Fort Hayes University majoring in Elementary Education. He also has a half brother, Johnny Hopkins, and a half sister, Tonya Hopkins. Jimmy first got involved with bull riding at the age of six. He started off riding calves and sheep at a youth rodeo in Pilot Mound, IA where he began shaping himself into a champion. From there he moved on to Little Britches rodeos, traveling across the United States with his parents and sister Lindsi. Next on Jimmy’s quest were the state associations where he started making a name for himself in the rodeo world at the young age of 14. As he grew older he decided to try taking his riding to the next level by becoming a member of the Bullriders of America at the age of 16. Along the way he joined the National High School Rodeo Association. Competing at the state level, Jimmy went on to be the first guy in Iowa to claim two Iowa High School Rodeo Association Bull Riding Championships.
