| After retiring from a successful career inside the arena, family and friends wanted to see him from a much safer perspective, but still involved in rodeo. Since beginning his career in rodeo announcing in September 1997, J. W. has become a real asset behind the microphone. He is so dedicated to being the “Best in the Business”, he has attended the Rodeo Academy in Oklahoma City and been instructed by two National Finals Rodeo announcers, Zoop Dove and Zeb Bell to improve his rodeo announcing skills.
