Dear Ropers,

Summer time as we know it is coming to an end. Kids are going back to school once again! And before you know it fall will be in the air. And speaking of the fall we have some great fall ropings coming up. September 27th will be a one day #4 pt in Glenrose Tx. The format will be the same as all our #4 pts unless we have over 600 teams then it will be a 3 head progressive on one. After Glenrose we turn around and come back close to home for us at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore Ok. This roping will be a two day #6 pt on Oct 4th & 5th . Check the Superlooper, Ropersnews, Dally Times or Spin to Win for more details. If you have access to the web you can go to AATRCROPE.COM and find out about our up coming ropings and also the top % from each roping that goes to our finals in Shawnee Ok on the first weekend in December. Information on our finals is now posted on our website. So you can get the tentative schedule of the weekend. Also if you have just joined you need to know that you get a half of a shootout with your membership. That means you can find another member that has not used their half and you guys can enter together or you can draw a run. Choosing someone with your half is the only way you can pick a team at our finals. You must rope with who you have qualified with throughout the years ropings. If you partner is not coming we will draw you a run and if your partner or you have been raised to a #3 then you will have to move your #4 shootout to the #6 finals. That?s right we will have a #6 finals and a #4. You will be receiving your shootouts and finals info towards the end of October.
If you didn?t make Tunica you missed a great roping. August 2nd and 3rd we had our summer AATRC roping in Tunica Ms. Over 1200 teams showed up to rope at the beautiful expo center in Tunica. This has to be one of our favorite places to rope. Lots of hard work and $$ have went into the Tunica Expo. With plenty of cowboys and cool A/C we rolled right through the weekend adding back to the roping a little over $20,000!
Going into the money round one header was voted sure to win something and that was Robert Morman. Robert had 2 of the top 5 call backs and roped his tail off all weekend. Having a run with Robert was like money in the bank. (that is if you held up your end of the deal and that would be two feet)! And that is just what David Lewis did and didn?t take much time doing it. Robert and David were the 3rd high back. These guys roped their steer in a fast time of 7.20. This was good enough for the victory ($5000 and 2 saddles) Congratulations guys! 2nd in the average was Kenny Miller and Casey Hunt with a 24.07 on preacher) Dennis Aaron and Robert Brewer.
**Here is some interesting info?the next time you are at an AATRC roping and your call back is a little long for you just remember this? the 93rd call back in Tunica Ms was Tim Huddleston and Jared Allen these guys roped a 6.60 and placed 6th in the average. (they held 1st until the 9th call back roped!)
Well as I end I want you all to read this email I got about John Wayne and I want you to promise to share it with someone!

THE MOST IMPORTANT STORY ABOUT JOHN WAYNE

Most of you know John Wayne as an actor. You may not know
What happened to him before he died. This is that story!
Robert Schuller's teenage daughter, Cindy, was in a motorcycle accident and had to have her leg amputated. John Wayne is a big fan of Robert Schuller. He heard Dr. Schuller say on one of his programs that his daughter had been in an accident and had to have her leg amputated. John Wayne wrote a note to her saying:


Dear Cindy,
Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you will be all
right.


Signed, John Wayne


The note was delivered to her and she decided she wanted to write John Wayne a note in reply. She wrote:


Dear Mr. Wayne,
I got your note. Thanks for writing to me. I like you very much. I m going to be all right because Jesus is going to help me. Mr. Wayne, do you know Jesus? I sure hope you know Jesus, Mr. Wayne, because I cannot imagine Heaven being complete without John Wayne being there. I hope, if you don't know Jesus, that you will give your heart to Jesus right
now. See you in Heaven. And she signed her name.


She had just put that letter in an envelope, sealed it, and written across
the front of it "John Wayne" when a visitor came into her room to see her. He said
to her: What are you doing? She said: I just wrote a letter to John Wayne, but I
don't know how to get it to him. He said: That's funny, I am going to have dinner
with John Wayne tonight at the Newport Club down at Newport Beach. Give it
to me and I will give it to him. She gave him the letter and he put it in his coat pocket.
There were twelve of them that night sitting around the table for dinner. They were laughing and cutting up and the guy happened to reach in his pocket and felt that letter and remembered. John Wayne was seated at the end of the table and the guy took the letter out and said: bHey, Duke, I was in Schuller's daughter's room today and she wrote you a letter and wanted me to give it to you. Here it is. They passed it down to John Wayne and he opened it. They kept on laughing and cutting up and someone happened to look down at John Wayne. He was crying. One of them said: Hey, Duke, what is the matter? He said (and can't you hear him saying it), " I want to read you this letter." He read the letter. Then he began to weep. He folded it, put it in his pocket, and he pointed to the man who delivered it to him and said: "You go tell that little girl that right now, in this restaurant, right here, John Wayne gives his heart to Jesus Christ and I will see her in heaven." Three weeks later John Wayne died. You never know how your witness to another will effect their eternity!

This has to be my all time favorite story! So much can be drawn from this story.

First, when things seem to be going bad in our humanistic minds just try looking at them through God?s eyes. This young lady had her leg amputated and what a horrible thing! But God used it to bring John Wayne in to his kingdom. So the next time something happens to you and it seems really bad just remember this story and ask God to use your situation for his good!
Second, if you think you are too tough for Jesus and Christianity just know if John Wayne needed Jesus then partner you might want to rethink the matter.

Third, if there is someone special to you and you don?t know if they have excepted Jesus as their personal savor (and you can?t imagine heaven with out them), then share this touching story of John Wayne?s salvation with them.
