Dear ropers,
We hope this newsletter finds you all doing well. Our last roping was held in Ada Oklahoma on August 28th and 29th. At this roping we included a #10 and an #8 pt, which was held Saturday morning, then we went into a #6 that afternoon and ended with Sunday’s #4. We hosted a little over 800 teams for the weekend. Considering that the USTRC roping in Enid was also held that weekend were satisfied with the weekends turnout. It looks like we will be able to move this Ada roping up a week so the conflict will not be there. I know a lot you guys would like to attend both. The weekends winner in the #10 pt were Jared Easterling and Bubba Buckaloo with a 31.07 on 4. These young men went home with $1724! Then in the #8pt Terel McLemore and Tommy Mather stepped up to the winners circle with a 32.39 on 4 winning $1860. Our #10 and #8 pt ropings have had great feedback from these higher numbered guys. You can usually look for them when we are in Ardmore and Ada. In the #6 roping the state of Missouri was recognized as having a few wolves reside their! Chris Clark and Kasey Hunt took home two beautiful Running P Saddles and $1600. This 6pt team was 24.00 on 3. Kasey, no stranger to the winners circle, won our #4 finals last year in 2003. Looks like that #3 bump hasn’t set him back. In the #4 Roy Brown and Tim Huddleston took the victory with a 31.03 on 3. Also winning 2 top of the line Running P Trophy Saddles plus $1500.
Our winners in the Fear Not Dummy Roping were in the five and under Caleb Norman , 6-9 Brady Norman and in the 10 -12 Kaleb Littleton. These young guns all won Red Bluff Buckles. Congratulations to them all!

You can see how many you have and with who. Finals information is also on the schedule page. We have made a few minor changes so make sure you read it. Once again our finals is 100% payback so make plans to win more shootouts and attend this fantastic roping in Dec on the 3rd thru the 5th. Rickey Green is going to bless us with his presence one again at the luncheon on Sunday! More info on our finals is in this months Ropers New, Spin to Win and Superlooper. We will also post one on our website and send you one out when we mail your shootouts along with your partners phone numbers.
Upcoming ropings are Monroe (November 6th & 7th) then Claremore (November 13th & 14th). These will be our last two ropings before the finals.
As always I want to end the newsletter with something from God’s word that you can take with you to “Walk in Victory.” That is our goal isn’t it? To live daily in God’s blessings and promises. But remember we can not do that unless we get into the instruction manual.
The word I want us to first think on is COUNTERFEIT. Probably the first thing that comes to your mind is money. There have been those whom have used their talents to reproduce our money. Though it looks the same it is not. They are trying to trick others to believing it is the real deal. We all know counterfeit money it is not real money. Websters dictionary defines counterfeit as: made in imitation of something else with intent to deceive. There is a subject much more important than counterfeit money that I want to talk about. There is a war going on that you need to be informed about and its major tool is counterfeiting! (Trust me I am going somewhere!) This war is ran by the daddy of counterfeits SATAN.(…for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44) In Matt 24:4 the bible says: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ’ and will deceive many.” One of the main things that is being falsely duplicated is the powers of the Holy Spirit. God uses the Holy Spirit to convict, guide and teach his people. This is done through your spirit. If asked the difference of your spirit and your soul would you know? Well hopefully after you read this you will. God’s link to us as humans is through our spirit. Matt 26:41 says “The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” God speaks to us through our spirit then we have to have our body (soul, flesh, mind) under submission so we will be able to do his work.
The true powers are through the Holy Spirit’s gifts. Mankind is able to do miracles, healing and wonders through the Holy Spirit. Let me get one thing straight it is ONLY through God’s power of the Holy Spirit that these things are done. He uses his faithful people as a tool to accomplish his work. We are nothing and can do nothing on our own.
Then we have the counterfeit of God‘s power--Satan is using the spiritualist movement to duplicate the powers of the Holy Spirit. He wants you to believe in reincarnation, (Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement..Hebrews 9:27) astrology, white magic, fortune telling, horoscopes etc. Rev 21:8 says those who practice magic arts will be cast into the lake of fire (hell). Right now you can easily find a phone number in many magazines or on TV to some psychic that can tell you your future, things of your past and may even say that they are in touch with someone you know that has pasted on. Satan’s followers follow people around and become acquainted with the facts of their lives to use this information in deceit. You may say this is not for me I am not into any of this. Satan can make these look like they are good or possibly look like it is from God. (What I am about to say may not be the popular thing but it is the truth.) One thing unparticular is the book series Harry Potter. It is very likely that your child is reading one of these books. As innocent as it may seem there is no such thing as good magic or white magic. This is away that Satan gets a hook into you or your child’s mind. Which as we stated earlier is your soul (body, flesh, mind). Satan’s only way to you is through your soul. You have heard the fraise sell your soul to the devil in laugh well how true the statement is. That is why we have to live by the spirit not soul.1 Timothy 4:1 says “God’s spirit specifically tells us that in the later days there will be men who abandon the true faith and allow themselves to be spiritually seduced by teachings of demons.” Matthew 24:24 says that the very elect shall be deceived! I want you to be informed that just because something is supernatural does not mean it is of God. There are two powers at work in this world one is the awesome power of the one and only God and the other is from Satan and his demons.
So how are we able to distinguish between the two? 2 Thessalonians says pray and we will be delivered form wicked and evil men…he will protect us from the evil one. So first (1) is pray. (2) Next study the bible and know scriptures so you can stand strong against him. Read Ephesians 6:10-18 on how to put on the armor of God. (3) Take Satan’s activity in this world seriously and last (4) is surround yourself with Christian friend and leaders and apply their Godly direction in your life. And last I want to stress do not fear evil! Colossians 1:13 “For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son..” John 16:33 “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I (Jesus) have overcome the world (Satan’s domain).” Romans12:21 “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Isaiah 41:10 “do not fear, for I am with you.” 2 Timothy 4:18 “The Lord will rescue me form every attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.” I will stop here because I could go on and on with more promises from God’s work about his protection from the evil one. Now, you might say man that is a lot of scripture! But, the only way to be victorious is through God’s word. If I just told you what I thought then I would be wasting your time! Always back up someone instruction with the word. Let me encourage you to get into the word of God!
