Dear Friends,

Well, it is the dead heat of summer and I hope you are all being active with your family and friends! Activities such as swimming, rodeo, roping, eating and maybe a little baseball could possibly be what is filling your summer. Just remember this, when you are old and gray those fun summer nights spent with those you love will be the fond memories that you and your family will be holding on to. Any more the days seem to be spent with what needs to be done and how fast we can do it. I think there should be a law that each family can only watch TV two hours a day, each parent must be done with their work by 5 pm and you have to eat dinner with your family at the table every night. Spending that time talking about what happened in each ones lives throughout the day. You may say that is crazy! Well okay, lets just take prayer out of public schools, not display the ten commandments, hand out condoms to our kids and oh yeah lets talk about taking “one nation under God” out of the pledge of allegiance…That sounds more logical doesn’t it?!?! You know, when I was in cosmetology school they said don’t talk politics or religion with your customers. Good thing I don’t do hair anymore.

I guess we better talk roping now. The AATRC will have two great ropings in the month of August. Tunica Ms will be the first weekend of August and Ada Ok will follow two weeks later. We are giving a S&H aluminum trailer to the high money winner in Mississippi! ($19,000 msrp) And in Ada there will be a roping to suite the entire family! Our finals is at the end of the year so don’t forget you need shootouts to rope in the 100% payback roping. Of course, there will be a preliminary that you may acquire more shootouts but there is nothing like picking up a few here and there. Also we are awarding a $ bonus to the high point #8 roper and the high point #10 roper of 2005. You can check out the point standings at our website. Just so you will know first place gets 10 points down to 10th place 1 point.

I also want to let you be aware of a rodeo bible school for boys, that we are holding at our arena August the 26th -28th. There will be calf roping, team roping and chute dogging for ages 8-17. God called us to do this after attending a camp like this with our son in June. He has sent NFR qualifying instructors to teach your kids how to be a champion in and out of the arena! If you are interested contact us for availabilities for enrollment to the school. We would love for you to bring your kids and those that want to stay are welcome to in their own accommodations. $200 will supply instruction, lodging and meals for each young man. Plus church services that include testimonies from the instructors and several other Godly cowboys! God has a plan for our kids and we hope to introduce them to it before the “world” offers it’s plan!

As I end I want to leave you with the verse that God has put deeply in my heart lately. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Did you know God knew you before you were born? Yes, that is right (Jeremiah 1:5) when you were in your mothers womb he knew what you would look like, what your characteristics would be and He knew what He wanted for you. So many people want to give credit to chance or evolution. There is a certain bird that changes environment in the winter and summer. When they do this they leave their young behind. Not long after they arrive to their destination they are accompanied by their young. Researchers say that this bird has ways of telling so many different things such as distance, latitude, etc and also an instinct of where there parents went. If you take a look at just the muscle of the eye and how it works, you will find that it is so complex that something AWSOME must have made it. Well God made you and the world around you and yes he has plans for you, good plans. But we have to come to him daily to discover them. We have to come to our maker daily with thanksgiving, praise and ask for direction in life. Then He will direct you to the road map of like (bible) to find your way. Oh how I want his perfect plan in not only my life but yours too!
