February 2005 News

Past Newsletters

Dear Ropers,
I made a mistake in Jan newsletter about the dummy roping winners. As we all know this was the finals and a dummy roping that is very respectable! The 5 and under AATRC World Champion was Brady Nichols. Brady is 4 years old and has been dummy roping since he was 2! He is the son of Joe Paul and Stacy Nichols! Sorry for the mistake Brady! Congratulations.

Dear Ropers,
I dont know about you guys, but to be the first of the year in Oklahoma and have 67 degree days is something else. The weather has been marvelous! We hope to start roping in the practice pen alot this month. Brady's junior rodeos start up in March so all the horses got to get legged up! Along with Brady! We still havent got the dismount (goat tying) down off Blue Duck (his paint pony). The gravity seems to have more so of an effect on his rear than his feet! But enough about us lets talk about some exciting new things in the AATRC. We have been working on our own line of saddles for a while and are pleased to introduce them at Ada, Ok in Februrary. (I would post them on the website but my class for putting picture on my site is not till March! I am hoping to take this class and do all my website myself and not have to rely on someone else to put things up in a timely manner.) So you will have to come to Ada Feb 5th & 6th to see!! They are really nice, and we needed a change since about 100 saddles are won each year from the AATRC. This way if you have already won one in the past years you will be glad to add this trophy saddle to your collection!
We have added a new roping to the list this year. Meredian Ms will be held April 23rd & 24th. Our turn outs are so great in Tunica and Monroe La that we hope to give you guys another roping to attend and also hope for Georgia, ALabama, Florida and Tennesse to take part in our exciting ropings! Booger had a good roping there in November! We are also going to Clarksville Arkansas twice this year! We hope to see each of you soon. The break has been good but we are ready to get back in the “swing of things!!!Results from Ada are on the website and will be in the March’s edition of the Ropers News. Until then be sure to rope your dummy, pray and read God's word daily! (maybe not in that order though! Be sure and check out the front page for the though of the week!

Kelly
PS check out Tunica's info on the schedules page! March 5th & 6th
