Dear Ropers,
November 8th and 9th the AATRC went to West Monroe La. What a fabulous facility! If it was a little more centrally located we would love to have our finals there! The ropers had a great time and roped well. They caught and caught and then caught some more. We added $9000 on top of the advertised payout of $10,000 10 saddles, 10 breast collars and 6 buckles. I think that added money made everyone rope up!
We had 218 teams come back to the money round. Everyone had to rope since we were taking the top 10% to the finals. The top 10% figured out to be 87 teams and that is just how many catches we had in the money round! So everyone who caught won shootouts. The win of the roping went to the 6th high call back, Jerald Bierman and Robert Brewer with a 25.78. Not only did Jerald place 1st , but he placed 4th and 12th also! And as for Robert, he has found his self in the pay window several times this year! These guys took home $4000 and 2 Beautiful Running P Saddles. Second in the average went to 12 callback, Ryeland Myers and Casey Hunt, with a 27.07 on three. That was good for $3000 and 2 saddles. Congratulations to all our winners from West Monroe! We sure don?t want to forget to recognize tomorrows team roping champions, the dummy roping winners! The buckle winners were Dawson Woodruff (5 and under), Canon Fletcher (6 to 9) and P J King (10 to 12). And winning cactus ropes were Garrett Elmore (5 and under) Bailee Bruce (6 to 9) and Richard Chatman (10 to 12). As the year has almost come to an end I want to remind you all that our 2004 ropings will kick off on Feb 7th and 8th at Ada Oklahoma. This year has been great for the AATRC and we are looking forward to another successful season in 2004! We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And let me remind you to remember the reason for this wonderful season. The gifts are great & fun but don?t let them over ride the wonderful celebration of our Savior?s Birth! Hope to you soon, Buddy and Kelly Norman AATRC/ Fear Not Productions
